ABOUT ME

Isabella Bretón, is a film Director and Production Coordinator born and raised in New York City and Jersey City. She later moved to Dominican Republic with her family. She has worked in one of the biggest creative agencies of Dominican Republic, becoming director of the audiovisual department in less than a year and at a very young age. She is a Social Communication Audiovisual Production graduate from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Bretón was chosen and Woman of the Month by the most prominant magazine in her country due to her work with gender equality in her area. The young filmmaker has been featured in International Press like Latino USA NPR, as well as most major media outlets in the Dominican Republic. She has completed intensive courses in Directing for film (London Metfilm School), Directing for Actors (Adrienne Weiss) and Acting for Film (New York Film Academy).
Bretón has directed many Award winning short films with International screenings like IX Latin American Week in Frankfurt, III New Dominican Cinema in Brasil, the Dominican Embassy in Berlin and London, and the first Dominican Film Showcase in Stockholm. Her short film Sangre Salá(2018) achieved Best of Fest in the Big Shoulder DePaul Film Festival, as well as winning in other film festivals and being selected by the Latino Filmmaker Network for the Hispanic Heritage month for FaceBook. Bretón also directed Un Cuento Para Rodolfo (2016) selected for the Film Market of the Clermont-Ferrand festival du Court Métrage and Dominican Film Fest of New York City. Her short comedy A La a Carta (2017) won Best Script, Cinematography and Public Favorite at La Semana Mas Corta festival 2017. 

Her most recent works include commisioned short film Un Minuto(2019) and video clips: Realidad o Ficción for Sergio Echenique and Canción de Navidad for Latin Grammy Nominee Manny Cruz.
